Information on our digital book platforms and how to use them.

Operating Systems and browsers

In order to optimize your research using library resources, make sure that your browser and your device's operating system are up to date.

Adobe Digital Editions

In order to download eBooks from most databases onto your device, you will need to install Adobe Digital Editions
Most major publishers use Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) to proof-read their books. Download this free eReader to experience your books in the most optimum format across PC, MAC, tablets or mobile devices. Use it to download and purchase digital content, which can be read both online and offline

With Adobe Digital Editions, depending on the book supplier, you may download up to 10 titles at a time and have off-line access to your downloaded titles for up to 14 days.

You may return a full title download early and within your ADE account you may also do the following:

  • Take notes
  • Show facing pages
  • Print
  • Transfer titles to handheld devices

Bluefire

Install Bluefire Reader App to download and read books on your mobile device.  Bluefire Reader is the best way to read Adobe® Content Server protected ebooks on your iPhone or iPad. With Bluefire Reader you can read EPUB and PDF ebooks from many retailers, publishers and libraries.

Creating accounts

Many databases like EBSCOhost and Proquest will require the creation of an account in order to access eBooks.  Be aware that the only information necessary is your Fielding email address and a password that you create.  No institutional logins, payments, or sensitive personal information are ever required.
